Enduring Power Of Attorney

Enduring Power Of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) allows the Attorney to make ‘personal care decisions’ on behalf of the Donor once he or she is no longer fully mentally capable of making these decisions by themselves. At O’Connor McCormack Solicitors we provide guidance and expertise in the creation of Enduring Powers of Attorney whereby the Donor will sign the necessary documents giving their Attorney the power to apply to the High Court to make these personal care decisions once the Donor becomes mentally incapable of dealing with their own affairs.

The creation and registration of an Enduring Power of Attorney is a complicated procedure and at O’Connor McCormack Solicitors we will provide clear advice and we will prepare all the necessary documents for signing by the Donor in order to create the Enduring Power of Attorney.

The creation of an Enduring Power of Attorney can give great peace of mind to both the Donor and the Attorney as the Donor will know that if they are no longer able to look after themselves, they will know that a person that they trust will be able to make decisions on their behalf and in their best interest.
